The Squidling Brothers return to Philadelphia just off a trip out to Tokyo, Japan, and a tour from Vancouver Canada down the north-west coast to San Francisco. Joining forces once again with the Tiberino Family in their courtyard gardens, full of Philadelphia art treasures. We bring you mosaics, three-dimensional oil painted murals, and immersive Circus theater of the absurd. The 13th season of Carnivolution is the first year that we no longer have Joe Tiberino with us in the flesh. His spirit and memories are present in the images on the walls and alive in the Circus itself. Political satire rings out through dance, music, fire, aerial acrobatics, puppets, and sword swallowing, in a living cartoon theater.
The SQUIDLING BROTHERS are a collective of circus freakshow performers based out of Philadelphia, founded by JELLY BOY (clown of danger and science) & MATTERZ SQUIDLING (the impenetrable music man). Combining their feats of wonder, skill, and comedy, the show gives audiences a fast-paced, high-risk, unforgettable experience. Taking from the American Carnival and Theatre of the Absurd traditions, The Squidling Brothers have mutated the classic and the modern to create a style all their own. The Squidlings have also been featured on the television programs AMC Freakshow and Oddities San Francisco.
Established in October 16, 1999 The Ellen Powell Tiberino Memorial Museum celebrates the life and career of this renowned Philadelphia Artist. The complex includes a common courtyard decorated with sculptures and permanent murals. The Tiberino Museum encourages artistic awareness and a love of community and spirit.
