Welcome to the official page for the Penn Intercollegiate Lindy Exchange (PILE), hosted by West Philly Swingers, Penn's premier swing dance troupe. PILE is the largest annual lindy hop event in Philadelphia, hosting several hundred dancers from across the east coast for a day of workshops, competitions, and social dancing to a live band.

Workshops (10am-12pm, 12:50pm-2:50pm)
Beginner: Kevin Mascitelli & Julianne Ferrill (for dancers not yet comfortable with six and eight count patterns)
Intermediate: TWO COUPLES! Carla LaRue Heiney & Tyler Scaglione AND Chris Price & Lauren Levey. (Estimated level: Comfortable with many different footwork patterns, looking to learn new moves and improve techniques, 1-3 years of frequent dancing)
Advanced: Rafal Pustelny & Adrienne Weidert (Confident dancing with musicality with a variety of different patterns and tempos, est 3+ years of frequent dancing, have attended several large week or weekend dance camps)
Collegiate Competitions (current full-time undergraduate or graduate students only, 3:30pm-7pm, social dancing inbetween comps):

Newbie Mix & Match: Randomized partner dance for dancers with under a year of experience, or under six months experience in a secondary role.

OPEN TO ALL Competitions (Non-students welcome!)
ALCH Mid-Atlantic Strictly Swing Finals: Again, bring your own partner. Any swing goes! We'll be playing swing music, but all forms of swing (Lindy hop, balboa, shag, charleston, etc.) are good as any! The winners of this competition will win a pair of tickets to the American Lindy Hop Championships on October 26th in Harlem, NY AND automatic entry into their Harvest Moon Ball Strictly finals! The second place couple will ALSO win entry into the ALHC finals.
Philly Fish Fry social dance! (9pm-12am)
PILE registration includes admission to Philly Fish Fry. We're excited to announce that GLENN CRYTZER AND HIS QUINTET will be there to help us dance the night away.
Limited housing is available for students coming in groups with their college or by special request. The housing request form can be found in the registration form.
