About once every 18 months, the New Moon comes between the Earth and the sun resulting in a dark shadow cast upon Earth called a total solar eclipse. The next total solar eclipse visible from the US will be on August 21st. While us Pennsylvanians will only be able to see a partial eclipse, we are still ready to celebrate and invite you to join for this celestial event! Enjoy an afternoon of sun and fun with a variety of eclipse-related activities in our yard and lecture hall, including NASA's live-stream of the eclipse. The event is free and open to everyone, although children must be accompanied by an adult. Enter our yard on 17th Street, across from the police station entrance. This event is weather dependent, so please call us at 215-763-6529 x15 or check our homepage ( on the day of event. Walk-ins will be welcome as space allows, but registration is preferred. Groups of 10 or more please call 215-763-6529 x15 to see if there is room.
