Hoots & Hellmouth
Come celebrate the release of our forthcoming EP, Uneasy Pieces, at our Boot & Saddle residency this Summer. While you're there be sure to yell extra loud, cuz we'll be RECORDING all three shows for a live release in the Fall. Lend us your voices for posterity's sake!

And hey, while you're at it, check out our latest LP (released last year) In The Trees Where I Can See The Forest. It's a record that feels like an expedition. Through dark tangles of thickets and underbrush, a path winds its way through the density of lived life, finally opening up into a sun-drenched field in which to stretch out, breathe deep and reflect on the journey… weary travelers dressing wounds while wistfully recalling tales of courage and self-doubt, love and longing.

The new album began to take shape over two years ago in a transformed silversmith mill in the little Philadelphia suburb of Clifton Heights, PA. Mt Slippery, as it is currently known, is home-base for our homies Dr. Dog. There we assembled with engineer Nathan Sabatino (Dr. Dog, Floating Action, Birdie Busch, etc) and over the course of a couple weeks proceeded to coax these songs out of the ether using all manner of instrumentation (including the 4 that will appear on our upcming EP Uneasy Pieces). The now-classic acoustic H&H sound is certainly present, but as with each record previous, In The Trees pushes the band beyond the borders of what came before. It’s a natural progression, an obvious evolution. Sparking electric tones set old wood aflame. These songs burn with it. This record represents feast and famine. Dig in and join us In The Trees.

Ladybird
Hatched from a front-porch jam session, LADYBIRD bathes old-time favorites and new originals in a cocktail of sepia-toned dobro licks, heaven-sent harmonies, and an organic acoustic sound. United by a love of American intervals and pure, clean melodies, Ladybird takes listeners from the streets of Philadelphia to the climbs of Appalachia with soaring ease. Their self-titled EP joins the gals with local rocker Michael Southerton (Song Dogs) to present four traditional songs with new takes, paying homage to the songs that let Ladybird take flight while looking forward to the future.
