PFP's 8th annual conference for LGBTQ parents, prospective parents, grandparents and our kids of all ages will take place on Saturday, October 7 from 9am-3pm again this year on the beautiful campus of the University of the Sciences in West Philly (43rd and Woodland Ave.).
The day will be from 9am-3pm (one hour shorter by request) and feature keynote speaker and PFP parent Heath Fogg Davis and a talk entitled "«Parenting Through the Bureaucracy of Gender».
Heath is the author of Beyond Trans: Does Gender Matter? (NYU Press), a book that offers practical guidance to individuals and organizations on how to develop trans-inclusive policies that are institutionally smart. He is a professor at Temple University, where he teaches and conducts research on antidiscrimination law and policy. He also consults with businesses, schools, healthcare providers, and non-profits on trans-inclusion. Heath and his wife and kid (with another on the way) live in Philadelphia and are active members of the PFP New and Expectant Parent Group.
