UPDATE: Due to scattered thunderstorms, we are unable to hold this event at the outdoor PHS Pop Up Garden at UCity Square. This event will now be held at WHYY Studios in Philadelphia.

Across the country, cities are reinventing their vacant and neglected spaces in intriguing ways. Offering city dwellers and visitors a range of temporary to semi-permanent options, Philadelphia has become a leading city transforming underutilized spaces into gathering places. Join WHYY and PHS: Pennsylvania Horticultural Society for a happy hour panel on creative approaches to public spaces and the partnerships fueling this trend. PlanPhilly’s community engagement editor Diana Lu will moderate this discussion among local stakeholders executing successful techniques of design and engagement across the city.

Panelists:
Matt Rader, PHS: Pennsylvania Horticultural Society
Joseph Reagan, At4240 Wexford Science & Technology
Prema Gupta, The Navy Yard
Angel Rodriguez, the Philadelphia Land Bank

Opening remarks by Alan Greenberger, Philadelphia Art Commission Chair, former Philadelphia Deputy Mayor
