From growing up in Dallas, studying at Yale, and eventually moving to Nashville, music has always played an important role in Conner Youngblood's life. He began by playing clarinet and banjo in middle school and eventually started writing and recording songs in his college dorm. Influenced early on by artists like Elliott Smith, Gorillaz and Sufjan Stevens, Conner's music focuses on the beauty in intricate, original instrumentation, simplicity in song structure and mostly introspective lyrics. The result is a sound much bigger than your typical singer-songwriter as he buckles down to carving out his own niche.
2015 saw Conner self-release an acclaimed EP — 'The Generation Of Lift' — winning plaudits in the US from Noisey, FADER, Stereogum, OkayPlayer, Pigeons & Planes and a superb video via Nowness. Now he is back to announce his signing to Counter Records (a Ninja Tune imprint) and the upcoming physical release of a special edition of 'The Generation Of Lift' that features an additional track of Conner's entitled «A Summer Song.» The 12" vinyl release of the EP will be released on 24th June 2016 and features original artwork and sleevenotes by Conner.
Baby & Shylow
Baby & Shylow are like a musical make-out session in the backseat of your mom’s Mercedes. The couple’s heartfelt vocal harmonies, intimate acoustic guitar, and infectious live chemistry feel like a sonic lovechild that blends folk, r&b, and pop. Side effects from their live shows may include; contagious handholding and a hickey you’ll have to explain the next day.
Shylow’s touring as frontman and producer of the Philadelphia-based band Grandchildren led him to a chance encounter with Baby, Raleigh’s “downtown darling”, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. Though their musical collaboration began in 2016, their natural chemistry has been called “timeless”, like Sonny & Cher meets the Lovings.
Korine’ is an electronic pop band created by members Morgy Ramone and Trey Frye. Meeting in Philadelphia in 2015 the two quickly became close friends after discovering their shared artistic motivations and musical approaches. An amalgamation of 80s era pop and contemporary awareness creates the duo’s captivating blend of sound and style — the result of which is an undeniably genuine and emotionally driven energy
