Join us on Wednesday, August 22 for a really fun event with Captain Lawrence Brewing Company.
Dan Conway from Captain Lawrence Brewing Company explains what's going on and how it all happened:
«I’ve been wanting to do a collaboration with my man Marcus (our New England Sales Manager) and Justin (our Experimental Brewer) since I started at Captain. All of our schedules were never jiving together so we locked down the date of December the 23rd of 2016… What were we thinking… I drove through Holiday traffic up and back having no choice but to travel through NYC, which doubled my time spent behind the wheel. Marcus, on the other hand, had his identity compromised via his debit card the night before, and was about to get on a plane the next day to Miami for the holidays. As for Justin, he was more of a concerned parent checking in with us to see when we could start mashing in. Our idea was to make a Berliner Weiss with a Kolsch malt bill using Yogurt as the souring agent, and that’s what we did. To celebrating the trials and tribulations that were endured to make this beer happen, we decided to split the beer up into three versions, aptly named Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.
— Planes: Berliner Kolsch with white peaches and nectarines
— Trains: Berliner Kolsch dry-hopped with Blanc and Motueka
— Automobiles: Berliner Kolsch aged in Taconic Distillery bourbon barrels that housed VT maple syrup for a year
All said and done, this was a really fun project and I’m psyched to share it with you and yours for the event on the 22nd.»
