You’re invited to the Second Annual Urban Agriculture Open House, co-presented by the Food Policy Advisory Council and the Free Library's Culinary Literacy Center.
This fall the City of Philadelphia is gearing up to develop a city-wide strategic plan that will guide the future direction of urban agriculture in Philadelphia. Resident involvement in shaping this process is key, which is why we are committed to making this an inclusive and comprehensive process. If you are a farmer, grower, beekeeper, or just interested in gardening and growing food, join us!
Attendees will participate in workshop facilitated by Corajus to get your feedback before the strategic planning process takes place. Corajus is a collaborative of facilitators that works with neighbors, leaders, and institutions to eliminate race-based disparities around land and displacement in Philadelphia, and strengthen movements for social justice.
At the Open House workshop, you will:
• Learn more about the strategic planning process taking place this fall
• Tell us how you want to be engaged in the planning process
• Share information about what you need to have a successful garden or food-growing project
• Envision what a successful urban ag strategic plan will help you accomplish
Gardening and food growing organizations and City agencies will be tabling with educational resources, and attendees will have the chance to win awesome raffles prizes from local composting, gardening, and food businesses and organizations!
This event is free and open to the public. Dinner is included, first come first served. Registration is required via Eventbrite or by calling 215-683-5736.
