Grab a blanket, some lawn chairs, pack a picnic or some snacks and join us on the lawn of Lincoln High School near the Mayfair Memorial Playground (intersection of Vista and Rowland Avenue) to view the 2017 Eclipse which can be viewed as 75% coverage of the sun in Pennsylvania.

The Mayfair Arts Initiative will be hosting a pinhole viewer craft from noon to 1pm where you can make your own viewer.

The solar eclipse will begin at 1:18 p.m. and continue to about 4 p.m. The peak of the eclipse will be about 2:42 p.m.

Viewers MUST wear special glasses or view the eclipse through the pinhole viewer for protection. Sunglasses do not filter out enough sunlight.

You should buy glasses that include special documentation that they meet requirements for safely viewing the eclipse. Many of these can be purchased at home improvement or home goods stores leading up to the eclipse.
