We proudly announce The Roughwood Seed Collection Annual Fall Fundraiser hosted by Paul Kimport at Standard Tap with chefs Adam Diltz and Joel Mazigian, on Wednesday, September 27.
Founded by Dr. William Woys Weaver's grandfather in 1932, The Roughwood Seed Collection is America’s oldest private seed collection — focusing on Pennsylvania Dutch and Native American heirloom food plants — and is a living archive of our local culture and culinary traditions. This fundraiser, while being essential to continuing this important work, is a special opportunity to savor the history and flavor of the collection's heirloom varieties.
The evening will commence with a cocktail hour on the terrace at 6pm, featuring snacks inspired by the garden and a complimentary glass of Paul’s own cider. Following will be a four course dinner in the upstairs dining room featuring the vegetables of the Collection, as well as contributions from friends, like Earl Kaiser’s ducks, and a nightcap Paw-Paw Brandy from Rowhouse Spirits.
The evening is priced at $75, with additional beer, wine, and cider available on consumption, as well as some books, seeds, and things to sell. As the weather comes together, and things ripen, we will release more information about the menu. We are so excited to bring you this event and the opportunity to share our work. Thanks for spreading the word, we look forward to seeing you at the table!
