In celebration of the Chinese New Year, please join us for a performance of traditional Chinese music and Western music played on the erhu, a two-string bowed musical instrument sometimes known as the Chinese violin, by Philadelphia musician, author, Qi- Gong and Erhu educator Qin Qian.
Qin Qian is a professional erhu player and teacher. She has played with the Guangxi Symphony Orchestra; has been a featured soloist in Nanning, China; and was a radio host and music editor in China for decades. She also has authored two books, and produced music, in China. In 2012 and 2014, her students won the Princeton International Chinese Music Competition and she was named outstanding teacher. 2017 Kelvin Wang won second place.(The Teen's Talent Show) Ms. Qin works tirelessly to promote the erhu in America.
This program will be held in the meeting room on the library’s lower level, and we regret there is no elevator.
