Due to its popularity, we are offering this program a second time! Make sure to register before tickets are all gone.
Join the Friends of Independence National Historical Park for an exciting new series of programs called The Underside of Independence!
These exclusive tours will explore those hidden spaces beneath our most historic sites! Learn about each building’s history, the technology used in its preservation (then and now) and view artifacts recovered during excavations. All from a truly unique perspective.
This four part series began on January 31st with a rare underground look at two historic buildings: The Bishop White House and the First Bank of the United States. We will be showing them again on February 21st!
Come explore the basements of the Bishop White House and the First Bank of the United States with the park's architect, Winston Clement. See how the spaces have been preserved as well as the changes that were made when their purposes changed with time. See original structures as well as reconstructed items the National Park Service put in when they were creating the park.
