Did you know statistics show that 123 persons die from suicide every day in the US and over 45,000 persons ended their lives in 2017 due to suicide. This is a serious mental & physical health issue that is impacting the public health of our communities.Please come out and join us during May Week.
On Wednesday May 16th, 2018 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm, the Physical & Mental Health Committee is highlighting the epidemic of suicide by bringing awareness and information to the community.
Registration entrance begins at 6:00 at the North West Regional Center — Community College of Philadelphia. The Documentary: Preventing Suicide — Breaking the Silence will begin at 7:00 pm followed by light refreshments and a presentation by our Keynote Speakers: Shelley Leaphart-Williams and Willie Williams. We will also have a Q & A with some of the leading experts in the field of suicide prevention.
Suicide Awareness & Prevention Information will be available throughout the event at our information tables.Please come out and join us for this free event and bring a friend or family member who could benefit from this information.This event could be your opportunity to Save A Life.
