PACK MASS BUS TRIP TO PHILLY
FC Bayern are coming to the US following the World Cup, and while many of the major figures from the World Cup won't be there, there are still a number of big named players who won't be participating in the World Cup, and this could be one of the last chances to get to see them (Ribery, Robben, Alaba, Vidal). I'd also find it unlikely that all 10 of the German Bayern players make the World Cup Squad (Neuer, Müller, Wagner, Goretzka, Rudy, Hummels, Boateng, Süle, Kimmich, Ulreich), but we will see. There will also be a first look at many of the older youth team and reserve players who will be breaking their way into the squad in coming years (Ewinna, Dorsch, Mai, F. Götze, Streider, etc.). And, of course, it will be a first chance to look at Niko Kovac and his new coaching staff, before they start their first season.
The closest they will play is Lincoln Field in Philadelphia, against «The Old Lady», Juventus FC of Italy, on the evening of Wednesday July 25th.
So, naturally, as last time, FC Bayern — Pack MASS will be making a bus trip down to see FC Bayern play.
We will likely depart from South Station, heading to another pick-up along the Mass Pike, and then head down to Philadelphia. It is between a 5-7hr drive (which could become 8 depending on how the bus company operates). This will likely mean leaving early on the morning of Wednesday 7/25, and returning home in the early hours of Thursday 7/26. Details will still need to be worked out.
There, we will likely arrange a tour of sightseeing in Philadelphia, as there are many iconic locations to hit (The Rocky Stairs, The Love Statue, City Hall, Independence Hall, The Libert Bell, etc.). I'm sure we'll arrange a few beers and some cheesesteaks, too.
Then we will head to the stadium, try to link up with other FC Bayern fan clubs from around the US, and head to the match.
For those that want to head down early, there may be some player appearances in Philadelphia to get signatures, trophies on display, Bernie, and other madness that will be arranged later. IF you'd like to do those things and join us for part of the trip, we can work with you on that.
We cannot control their scheduling, though, only our own. So, we will plan our trip independently, and you're welcome to come along.
